And he made him a coat of many colours.
וְיִשְׂרָאֵל אָהַב אֶת יוֹסֵף מִכׇּל בָּנָיו כִּי בֶן זְקֻנִים הוּא לוֹ וְעָשָׂה לוֹ כְּתֹנֶת פַּסִּים׃

Bereishis 37:3
And the pit was empty, there was no water in it.
וַיִּקָּחֻהוּ וַיַּשְׁלִכוּ אֹתוֹ הַבֹּרָה וְהַבּוֹר רֵק אֵין בּוֹ מָיִם׃

And they sold Yosef for twenty pieces of silver.
וַיַּעַבְרוּ אֲנָשִׁים מִדְיָנִים סֹחֲרִים וַיִּמְשְׁכוּ וַיַּעֲלוּ אֶת יוֹסֵף מִן הַבּוֹר וַיִּמְכְּרוּ אֶת יוֹסֵף לַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִים בְּעֶשְׂרִים כָּסֶף וַיָּבִיאוּ אֶת יוֹסֵף מִצְרָיְמָה׃
בראשית לז:כח
"When Midianite traders passed by, they pulled Yosef up out of the pit and sold Yosef for twenty pieces of silver to the Ishmaelites, who brought Yosef down to Egypt."
Bereishis 37:28
He recognised it, and said: my son's coat.
וַיַּכִּירָהּ וַיֹּאמֶר כְּתֹנֶת בְּנִי חַיָּה רָעָה אֲכָלָתְהוּ טָרֹף טֹרַף יוֹסֵף׃
בראשית לז:לג
"He recognised it, and said: my son's coat! A savage beast devoured him, Yosef is torn to pieces!"
